Choice
How do we live in the blessing? Jesus came to bless us. He really did. He came so we can have this amazing life of freedom and peace. My question is...how do we live into this...?
And it boils down to 'choice'...
We need to choose the blessing. To accept it...to embrace it...to live into it. It's so hard sometimes...because for the most part it's easier to live outside of that blessing. We have less guilt. We think we deserve living in the 'junk' instead of coming out of it. You know what I mean?
Choosing the blessings...is what we need to do...daily...
We lose a friend, we lose a job, we have an illness, accident, someone hurt us, we failed at something, we made a mistake, we have to trust and don't know how...so we allow the lies to take over...and all of a sudden we live in this world of 'we are no good ' 'we deserved it' ...or a world of 'it always happens to me'. Or...'I can't forgive them'...'I won't - they don't deserve my forgivness'...or 'they' didnt even apologize...or 'it's going to turn out bad anyways'...'it's going to hurt me'....Can anyone relate?
So it's easier to stay mad or sad or just numb. Being numb ... much easier...
So we can choose to live in the curse or the blessing. Choose to stay mad or forgive, choose to move on or stay put, choose to trust and not beleive the lies...Choice...it comes down to choice.
Jesus came to give us abundant life...now that doesn't necessarily mean...a perfect life...where everything is exactly what you want...or cars, houses, money, pretty things...(though trust me...I don't mind those things at all) ...but it does mean...peace, freedom, love, forgiveness....and that is a blessing...Jesus came to bless us...let's accept that blessing...and live into a life of good choices...that lead to freedom...lead to forgiveness, to kindness, and most importantly - to peace...
Being reminded today...that it's a choice...the state of mind and heart I want to live in.
"Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance"...Jude verse 2
